About Know the Odds
Know the Odds is creynia's casino lab: a small set of free web apps that teach casino games honestly, with the math in plain view.
Who makes it
Know the Odds is built by creynia. The apps are open source on GitHub, where you can read every line of the simulators and lessons.
What it is
Each app teaches one game from zero to perfect strategy. The lesson apps pair short lessons and quizzes with a real-rules practice table that shows the expected value (EV) and house edge of every bet or decision before you confirm it. The roulette app is a strategy lab: you build a betting system and run it over thousands of simulated sessions to see what it really does.
Everything runs in your browser. The apps install on your phone, work offline, need no account and show no ads. Your progress stays on your device (spinner can optionally sync to a hidden folder in your own Google Drive).
The site counts anonymous page views with GoatCounter: no cookies, no identifiers and no tracking across sites, and nothing is counted if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
The apps
- CrapscrappyLessons from "what's a point?" to the bets worth making and the ones to skip, on a table that shows the house edge of every wager.
- Baccarat · Punto BancobaccarattonThe third-card rule, why Banker pays a commission, and which side bets are traps.
- Ultimate Texas Hold'emholdumbWhen to raise 4×, 2×, 1× or check, and how the Blind and Trips pay, with the EV of every decision.
- Roulette · Strategy labspinnerRun Martingale, Fibonacci, James Bond or your own system over thousands of sessions and see the bust risk and drawdowns.
Education only, play money only
These apps are for learning. They use play money, take no real bets and are not connected to any gambling site. Nothing here is betting advice.
Every casino game in these apps has a house edge, and no betting system beats it. Changing your bet sizes after wins or losses changes how your results are spread out, not the average. The apps show how big the edge is and which bets cost the least, not how to win.
If gambling is hurting you or someone you know, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (US), or contact your national problem-gambling helpline.
