Is the baccarat Tie bet worth it?
No. A tie comes 9.52% of the time (about 1 hand in 10.5), but Tie pays only 8 to 1, so its house edge is 14.36%, about 14 times the Banker bet's 1.06%. Where Tie pays 9 to 1 the edge is 4.84%, still far dearer than Banker. To break even, Tie would have to pay about 9.51 to 1.
Bet that both hands end on the same total. Pays 8 to 1, and loses when either hand wins.

How it works
You bet before the deal. If both hands finish on the same total, the Tie bet wins 8 to 1: a $5 Tie bet wins $40, and your $5 comes back too.
If either hand wins, the Tie bet loses. Player and Banker bets on the same hand simply push.
Some tables pay 9 to 1 on a Tie (Tie pays in Settings). It is still much dearer than Player or Banker.
