The Ante bet
The first required bet. It plays against the dealer, but only if the dealer qualifies.
You place the Ante before the cards are dealt. At showdown it wins 1 to 1 if you beat a dealer who qualifies (a pair or better) and loses if a qualifying dealer beats you.
If the dealer does not qualify, the Ante pushes, whether you won or lost the hand. A tie pushes too. If you fold, the Ante is lost.
