The Trips bet: paytables and house edge
The Trips side bet pays on your own final hand, whatever the dealer has. On the app's default Trips 8/6/5 table it pays 50 to 1 for a royal flush, 40 to 1 for a straight flush, 30 to 1 for four of a kind, 8 to 1 for a full house, 6 to 1 for a flush, 5 to 1 for a straight and 3 to 1 for three of a kind; anything less loses. Its house edge is 1.904% on that table, and runs from 0.902% (Trips 9/7/4) to 6.523% (Trips 8/6/4) across the 5 paytables the app offers.
An optional side bet on your own hand. It does not depend on the dealer, and it still pays if you fold.
Placed before the deal and needs an Ante. It pays by its paytable when your best five of seven cards is three of a kind or better, and loses with anything less. The dealer's hand and your decisions do not matter.
The Trips bet never changes how you should play the hand. Its house edge depends on the paytable your casino uses, so check the table before you bet.
Compare it with the main game on the house edge page.
